November 2007
Dear Friends and Fans,
As you probably know, I love to volunteer for things and
sometimes I get, shall we say, a bit carried away!
Well, a few months ago I was looking at the state of our
society. Sure, it ain’t all bad, but there is so much
that can be better. Never one to sit on the sidelines I decided
that I wanted to see what I could do in my neighborhood. I
love that expression, “Think globally but act locally.”
It’s sensible, if you think about it, and, hey, you
get to see and feel the effects!
I was reading a lot about the gang situation and the public
schools and how hard it is to get a good education these days.
Back in the day we didn’t have all these problems, or
at least not to the same degree, but everything has been complicated
by the internet, working parents, drugs, divorce and all of
these seemingly impossible problems to solve.
So, let me cut to the chase. You can read about my non-profit
Happy House just by linking over from this site. We use a
little booklet called The Way to Happiness which has 21 simple
little chapters that make up a common sense guide to happy
living. What happy means in this case is a life with respect,
friendship, trust, family, prosperity and all those things
that we live for.
Well, I am mailing out one million of these booklets to my
neighbors in the San Fernando Valley. I hope you live nearby!
It’s the kind of thing that many people could sit down
and read pretty quickly and these little reminders such as
to take care of yourself, the environment, your family and
parents, to try to live with the truth and to do good work
and basically to treat others as you would have them treat
you, these little reminders, are things we need. I know I
do!
This isn’t religion. It’s written by L. Ron Hubbard,
but this is not part of any church or doctrine. It’s
just a gift. I love it and it’s my early Happy Holidays
Happy House gift to my neighbors. And, after all, we are all
neighbors!

Be Happy!
